Stoney moved to the top of the B division with a gutsy display that earned a point at Buxsworth. Stoney started well and opened the scoring after only nine minutes when Scott hit a sweet volley low into the corner after some fine build up play involving Fox and Brassington. 

Buxsworth nearly hit back instantly when their centre forward was clean through on goal only for Townsend to make a timely interception.  Stoney then went two up thanks to Ridgeway who cannoned his effort into the net off the underside of the crossbar after a fine cross from Ryan Hodgkinson.  Stoney's central midfield pairing of Dan Hodgkinson and Ian Ridgeway dominated the action making timely interceptions in defence one moment before storming into the Buxsworth half with clever set up play moments later proving their worth as midfield engines.


After the break Buxsworth hit back hard and scored when Thompson chipped the on rushing keeper. Two minutes later it was all square when Jackson scored from close range.  Stoney were now rocking on their heels and only some smart tackling from Shaw and Fairey kept the home side at bay. However as the game wore Stoney started to dominate again. Scott and Fox both had good chances late on for the Quarrymen as the game swept from end to end.  Man of the Match for Stoney was Brendan Scott
